A Friend of Sinners is the final Sunday conversation of the BIOS Student Series. BIOS student Jacob Baughman is the third speaker, and his text is from Mark 2:23-17 about the calling the disciple Matthew, whose vocation was a tax collector. Tax collecting during this era was considered scandalous because of the unscrupulous practices and for siding with the Roman government who was oppressing the Jews. Yet Jesus reached out to Matthew to be His follower. Similarly, God reaches out to us in love today to be involved in our lives. The key is our response. To hear more, listen to conversation 3, A Friend of Sinners.

The Bible Institute of Seattle (BIOS) is a seminary on the SVA main campus, that exists to develop highly effective leaders that are both field-ready and debt free, to prepare them for kingdom service. It has been a dream of Pastor Monty to start BIOS, and having this student led series is the tangible fulfillment of this dream for all of us at SVA to celebrate.
