Who We Are

Our Mission

SVA Church exists to make known the REDEEMING, RENEWING, and RECONCILING, love of Jesus.

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our wrongdoings, according to the riches of His grace…

Ephesians 1:7

The reality is that life is often hard, all stories come with messy seasons, and deliverance is needed – both from ourselves and our circumstances. We believe that redemption for all things comes through Jesus’ finished work on the cross and rescues the lost, overturns graves, breaks chains, and transforms lives.

Therefore, we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.

2 Corinthians 4:16

We know that hope is hard to come by, yet is often still sought after in the temporary things that may promise joy, success, and satisfaction. We believe that true hope and lasting renewal comes from Jesus’ daily work in you and is the only lasting hope that this world has to offer.

For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.

Colossians 1:19-20

It doesn’t take long to realize that communities can be divisive, families are at odds, and relationships are strained. We believe that the ministry of reconciliation is given to the Church and compels us to engage the current strife of the world with the unity and peace of Christ.

Core Values

Core Value #1:

before Christianity

Because following a person is different than fitting into an institution.

John 14:6

All too often, “religion” has stood in the way of people encountering the authentic love, grace, and freedom of Jesus. Religion could be defined as any man-made system of rules and regulations that promises to get you to God. In stark contrast, the Gospel proclaims that Jesus came to us – offering new life – not to be earned by our own doing, but to be received through faith alone in Him.

Christ Before Christianity

Core Value #2:

before Agenda

Because God’s truth is steadfast when culture is not.

2 Timothy 3:16

SVA Church is a place for people on every part of the spiritual journey, from those investigating whether there is a God, to those who have made following Christ the priority of their life. The Bible presents a dangerous, yet ever so hopeful message of life change. We don’t assume everyone believes, or even knows the Bible, but we do hope everyone who comes through our doors is open to exploring it. We believe the Bible is the door to God’s truth and understanding who He is, and it’s the foundation of everything we do.

Scripture Before Agenda

Core Value #3:

before Action

Because there is space at the table for everyone.

Ephesians 2:4-5

Jesus made space for all people – especially those who are hurting, broken, lost, marginalized, or desperate. The grace of God meets you where you are and as you are, but has the power to transform every aspect of your life if you let it. To understand God’s grace is to understand that you are outrageously loved no matter where you are or what you have done – and that there is no need to “clean yourself up” to come to God.

Grace Before Action

Core Value #4:

before Assurance

Because life is uncertain and questions are real.

Mark 9:23-25

SVA Church is a “come as you are” kind of church – a community of
imperfect people doing life together and becoming all that God created us to be. Although every answer isn’t promised, part of a relationship with God is bringing all of your frustrations, hurts, and questions before Him. Usually, it’s in the wrestling that growth and breakthrough is given space to develop as God works in your heart. Whether you’re amidst a season of doubt or on a streak of faith, there is a safe place to lay it all out at SVA Church.

Wrestle Before Assurance

Core Value #5:

before Me

Because I am good but we are better together.

Philippians 2:3-4

We’re convinced that doing life together is more powerful than everyone doing life alone. The heart of Jesus’ message is to consider others before yourself, undoing the self-centeredness that comes from separation with God. Whether it’s a daily choice to sacrifice personal preference, lifting up one another in prayer, or walking alongside someone in a hard season, Christ compels us to fight for the we.

We Before Me

Core Value #6:

before Believe

Because you were created for relationship with God and others.

Acts 2:44-47

When church is whittled down to a list of beliefs, the heart of Jesus is lost. Long before those who walked with Jesus ever believed – Jesus reminded them that they belong in God’s family and told them to come along. The same is true today. We believe that everyone is invited to dig into community, test the claims of Jesus, and see what the Good News of who He is actually does in people up close. At SVA Church we find that belonging is the best chance for believing and that in community we are able to taste and see that God is good.

Belong Before Believe

Core Value #7:

before Know

Because often purpose becomes clear as you begin to walk.

Ephesians 2:10

God never intended for us to sit on the sidelines, watching the world around us. He created you for a purpose and desires for you to jump in and be a part of what He’s doing — to meet the relational, physical, and spiritual needs in our world. We find that when you step out in faith before having all the details, God begins to clarify your purpose. At SVA Church, we’re committed to helping you find your place in serving one another, our city, and our world.

What We Believe

Our core beliefs and doctrines are rooted in alignment with our denomination's (Christian and Missionary Alliance) Statement of Faith, the Fourfold Gospel, and Alliance Perspectives.

What we believe about the Bible

About The Bible

We believe that the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired by God, infallible, and is His revelation to humanity for salvation. The Scriptures serve as the authority and foundation for Christian living.

2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21

About God

About God

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Genesis 1:26; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 3:16-17; Matthew 28:19

About Mankind

We believe that mankind was created in the image of God, but as the result of sin, he is lost and powerless to save himself.

Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 2:7-3:19; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12-21; Romans 6:23

About Jesus

About Jesus and Salvation

We believe that the only hope for man is to believe in Jesus Christ, the virgin-born Son of God, who died to take upon Himself the punishment for the sin of mankind. We believe further in the bodily resurrection of Jesus from the dead. It is by receiving Him as Lord that man is made spiritually alive. This begins a relationship with the living Savior.

About Eternity

About Eternity

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the saved and the lost, the eternal conscious existence of all mankind either in heaven or hell and in divine judgments, rewards, and punishments. We believe, as well, that Jesus Christ will return in person to earth in power and glory.

Holy Spirit

About The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells those who have received Christ for the purpose of enabling them to live righteous and godly lives. Both the gifts and fruit of the Spirit are a continuing part of God's plan for His Church. It is God's will that each believer be filled with the Holy Spirit.

SVA Church Building

About the Church

We believe that the Church is the body of Christ and is composed of all those who, through belief in Christ, have been spiritually regenerated by the indwelling Holy Spirit. The mission of the Church is worldwide evangelism on the one hand, and the nurture and discipling of Christians on the other. We believe in the ordinances of baptism and The Lord's Supper.

Matthew 28:18-20; Matthew 26:26-30; Mark 16:15; Romans 6:3-4

Our History

SVA Church began on November 7th, 1999 with the belief that church should be a fun, casual, welcoming, and friendly atmosphere. Our first location was in the cafeteria of Opstad Elementary School in North Bend, WA with nine families that joined our founding pastors, Monty Wright and Marty Benedict.

After outgrowing Opstad Elementary School, we moved to Mount Si High School in Snoqualmie, until finally purchasing and remodeling the current campus in Fall City.

Since our beginning over 20 years ago, thousands of individuals and families from all over the area have called SVA their church home. As our church family grew we've continued to make an impact in our community and the world, knowing that God has big plans for the future of SVA and for you.

Our passion at SVA Church is to reach the unchurched and de-churched with the relevant, life-changing message of Jesus Christ.

If you're looking for a place to meet some great people and explore your faith, we invite you to become a part of SVA,
